Why you don't go through "le raidillon" full speed at Spa ???
No joke mode on: At my full speed, the car and I will crash very badly if I did!
Maybe you like to see that, but I'll pass for that scenario thank you very much.
With rear coil-overs ( I still use the torsion bars) and better aero, more speed in high-speed turns and over crests will be possible but not with the current handling. If you look at the video closely you see me already wandering left to right at some higher speeds on the track, one of them being down hill past the grand stands towards Raidillon. It feels worse then you can see in the video I assure you
All jokes aside, impoving the handling to match the power has my highest prority. But I can only do so much at the time. At least I didn't crash and could drive home again on my own. Remember that all other fast track ('Cup') cars that were there that day were trailered there...

That's the true spirit that prevailed among race drivers of early years, until the 50's, they drove their racing car to and from the track, as well as on daily use ...
Congrat's !

Yes, I am organizing a LandSpeedRecord event to in England (17/18 August) where a unique 1-mile race will be held. Top speed is the aim, preferably with 30hp based engines... a la Bonneville 'International 36hp Challenge' in the US.
Its held at Elvington, near York in England on an old WW2 bomber air base, which has a very long runway. If anyone is serious, contact me, 30hp ('Okrasa') based engined cars preferably, but a few german/cal-ish low-light ghia's, some with big type 4's also come. One of them the Bonneville record holder, also a Ghia, now belonging to Russel Richie, is also coming :)

As for my own beetle, I sold the engine and am preparing a for the 1200cc dyno Challenge again (20th July 2013 en pays-bas).
Rebuilding the 1200 engine with a new Pauter camshaft and compound turbocharging: two turbo's, one small, one big.
Hoping to reach 200hp goal with the 1200cc and run with the LSR at Elvington with it too

Regards,
Walter

Oh, yeah, and hopefully the A-team can get together and the Apfelbeck T4 OHC project gets a little further this year...
