Quel est vraiment l'intérêt du passage en double bougies par cylindres ?Aart-Jan a écrit : Stock heads, ported and converted to twin plug

Re: 1200 "Autobahn-Renner" [NL]
By igniting the fuel mixture at two locations, the burntime will be shorter (giving less more needed timing advance). By shortening the burntime, not only efficiency increases but available time for detonation also decreases. So besides a more efficient combustion, a higher compression ratio or boost level can be used, giving again more efficiency and power! We will see how this turns out in practice...

tres bonne anallyse et moins de perte thermique car les temps de combustion est plus courtBy igniting the fuel mixture at two locations, the burntime will be shorter (giving less more needed timing advance). en voila un qui va pleinement exploiter sa MS

you use two or four transistor for controling the two edis coil pack ?

Re: 1200 "Autobahn-Renner" [NL]
At first I will try to use the stock EDIS controller and just wire two sets of coils to it. If that doesn't work properly, I will use four transistors for direct ignition control.
You are also using MS?

yes

http://dangerous.skynetblogs.be/archive-month/2009-05#
we put it in a bus with T1 1600 engine (fuel only)
we doesn't tune it but he run well
I must to take time for the spark

Re: 1200 "Autobahn-Renner" [NL]
Maybe it will divide the power of the spark, because you share it !Aart-Jan a écrit :and just wire two sets of coils to it
And if your coils hasn't the same impedance, maybe it will not be divided in 2... but a ratio due to it.
Much better I think !Aart-Jan a écrit :I will use four transistors for direct ignition control.

Re: 1200 "Autobahn-Renner" [NL]
No. The coils are permanently connected to +12V and are switched to ground by the EDIS controller. By connecting two EDIS coilpacks to one controller, both coilpacks will be switched to ground at the same time over the same pin. So, you drain more power throught the EDIS controller. The controller is only making the connection. I don't exactly know what is the limit of the internals (transistor) of the EDIS controller (too much power drain can fry the internal transistor), but it's worth the experiment IMHO.

Ok with you ! I've not understood this way at the first time.
I believed that you would connect 2 coils on 1 EDIS output...

Re: 1200 "Autobahn-Renner" [NL]
I wish it was already finished. Unfortunately, I didn't have much spare time last months, so no further progress on the project.
